Supplier Requirements
Payment Terms:The standard payment term at SHC is open account, 75 days. The payment will be made to the vender 75 calendar days after the on-board sailing date as specified on the seaway bill of lading (BOL).
Defective Merchandise Handling:We require our vendors to take 100% responsibility for returned merchandise. Returned merchandise at the store level includes both customer returns due to quality related reasons, as well as customer dissatisfaction. Each defective product is charged based on landed cost + 10% handling fee. The defective claims will be offset from the next upcoming invoice payment.
Product Liability Insurance (PLI):All vendors are required to maintain and provide proof of Product Liability insurance(generally part of a Commercial General Liability insurance policy) before an order is generated. We also will send more details/requirements about PLI to potential vendors.
