    Trade assurance is a free service by Alibaba.com designed to create trust in trade. We provide you with a set of features and protections to help ensure suppliers honor important details of your contract.

    Enjoy coverage for:

      • 2. This feature is optional. You must enable it when you place your order.
  • Find and Negotiate

    When searching for products, look for the supplier’s Trade Assurance icon and Trade Assurance LimitWe assess every participating Trade Assurance supplier and assign them a Trade Assurance Limit for covering buyers. This is the maximum amount available for the supplier to use on all orders.

    Our careful assessment is based on the supplier’s trade history and qualifications: the greater the supplier’s Trade Assurance Limit, the better their trade record on Alibaba.com.

    You can contact the supplier by clicking ‘Contact Supplier’ (send an inquiry) or via TradeManager (instant messaging).

    Once you have selected a supplier, you should negotiate the key terms for your order.

    Agree on your initial payment The first payment you make to the supplier. You are covered for the value of this payment up to the remaining amount of the supplier’s Trade Assurance Limit.

    Once this payment is complete, the supplier will prepare your goods for shipment.

    You must complete your initial payment via the T/T (telegraphic transfer) payment method. We suggest you use USD.

    You are covered for the value of your initial payment up to the remaining amount of the supplier’s Trade Assurance Limit.

    Agree on your safeguards:

    • 1. On-time shipment safeguardAlibaba.com will refund up to your covered amount if your order is not shipped on time as stated in your contract.: Determine the shipping date. It can be set as a specific date, or set as a certain number of days after the initial payment is received.
    • 2. Pre-shipment product quality safeguard Alibaba.com will refund up to your covered amount if the products do not meet the quality requirements1 stated in your contract2.

      1. The product quality must be checked before shipment.
      2. This safeguard is optional. You must enable it when you place your order.
      : If you want be covered by the pre-shipment product quality safeguard, you must ask the supplier to offer this safeguard. You should establish detailed product quality requirements to be included in your contract.
  • Request Contract

    You can either:

    • 1. Ask your supplier to draft a contract for you.
      Or
      2. Click ‘Start Order’ and complete the order form. Your supplier will then draft a contract for you to confirm. How to complete the order form

    You can check the status of your order and confirm the contract in the Transactions & Logistics section of My Alibaba.

  • Confirm Contract

    Go to the Transactions & Logistics section in My Alibaba to confirm your contract. You can confirm, modify or cancel your contract.

    Once you confirm the contract, your order status will change to ‘Waiting for buyer payment’.

    Pay attention to the detailed terms of the contract.

    • 1. Initial payment The first payment you make to the supplier. You are covered for the value of this payment up to the remaining amount of the supplier’s Trade Assurance Limit.

      Once this payment is complete, the supplier will prepare your goods for shipment.

      You must complete your initial payment via the T/T (telegraphic transfer) payment method. We suggest you use USD.

      You are covered for the value of your initial payment up to the remaining amount of the supplier’s Trade Assurance Limit.

    If you selected this safeguard, be sure to include detailed quality requirements in your contract. If your contract does not contain any quality standards, the general Quality Inspection Standard will be used by default.

  • Payment

    • 1) Click ‘Get Payment Details’.
    • 2) Enter the name on your bank account. The name you enter should match the name on your bank account exactly so that we can process your payment correctly.
    • 3) Once you enter your payment information, you will be able to see the supplier’s bank account information. Please send your initial payment The first payment you make to the supplier. You are covered for the value of this payment up to the remaining amount of the supplier’s Trade Assurance Limit.

      Once this payment is complete, the supplier will prepare your goods for shipment.

      You must complete your initial payment via the T/T (telegraphic transfer) payment method. We suggest you use USD.

    • 4) Alibaba.com will match the payment to your order and transfer the payment directly to your supplier. Alibaba.com will not hold the payment.
    • 5) Once your payment is processed, your order status will change to ‘Waiting for supplier to ship order’.

    Note:

    • - We recommend you submit proof of payment documents. If you do, your order status will change to ‘Waiting for payment confirmation’.
    • - If the amount received for your initial payment The first payment you make to the supplier. You are covered for the value of this payment up to the remaining amount of the supplier’s Trade Assurance Limit.

      Once this payment is complete, the supplier will prepare your goods for shipment.

      You must complete your initial payment via the T/T (telegraphic transfer) payment method. We suggest you use USD.
      is less than the amount agreed in your contract, your order status will change to ‘Insufficient payment’. This may be because bank charges were deducted from your payment. Please contact the supplier and ask them to confirm your payment. If the amount received is significantly less than the amount agreed in your contract (more than 5% or more than US $100), please first complete your payment.
  • Shipment

    • 1. Once your payment is processed, your order status will change to ‘Waiting for supplier to ship order’.
    • 2. Please pay attention to the shipping date.
    • 3. If you selected the pre-shipment quality safeguard, please have your goods inspected before shipment. You are only covered for product quality issues before shipment.

    Note:
    If the supplier does not meet the requirements in your contract for on-time shipment or pre-shipment product qualityAlibaba.com will refund up to your covered amount if the products do not meet the quality requirements1 stated in your contract2.

  • Confirm Shipment

    Check and confirm the supplier’s shipping documents.

    Once you confirm, your order status will change to ‘Order complete’.

    If you do not confirm the shipping documents within 15 days, your order status will change to ‘Order complete’.

    If the supplier does not ship by the date agreed in your contract, you will be able to open a late-shipment dispute If the supplier fails to meet the shipping date stated in your contract, you can open a dispute. You may be able to resolve the issue directly with the supplier. If the supplier is unable or unwilling to resolve the issue and is found to be at fault, you will be refunded up to the covered amount stated in your contract. on this page.
